Widening of Vagina During Sex

During intercourse, in particular when the male has a thick penis, does the vagina open beyond the area that the penis is actually filling? Is there, for examplke, any open space beyond the penis? Does the parting of the lower walls, efffect an opening of the upper region of the vaginal walls as well?

Our answer...

Thank you for asking your question. A short answer is, yes, the vagina will open beyond what it is being filled by the penis. There are a couple of reasons for this.
First, the vagina is a potential space, meaning that when sexual relations are not occurring, the walls of the vagina are touching each other. During sexual excitement, the vaginal walls open to accommodate nearly any sized penis.
Second, during intense sexual pleasure, the inner end of the vagina will open even more and form a collecting area (like a pool) for the man's semen and sperm. Sometimes this widening is quite large. When the man ejaculates into the vagina, his semen is collected into this area and, after sex, the end of the vagina shrinks. When this happens, the end of the uterus, called the cervix, dips into the pool of semen and allows easier passage of sperm as they head toward the woman's egg in the Fallopian tube.

You will probably note that the inner end of the woman's vagina really opens close to the time that she has an orgasm. It's one way of knowing that she has really enjoyed herself!

Hope this information answers your question.
