Anal Sex and Space

You said (in another question) that the vagina is open beyond the end of the penis during intercourse. What about the anal cavity? Is it indeed a cavity, suggesting some degree of perpetual space, or do its walls generally press together also. And if intercourse occurs therein, is it or its walls usually parted beyond where the inserted penis tip ends?

Our answer...

It’s a potential cavity just like the vagina. That means that the walls of the rectum are together, until they are pushed apart. In the vagina… the cervix keeps the area beyond the penis open. No cervix, no opening beyond what has been pushed apart.  In the colon… feces and gas keep the walls apart. Otherwise, it's the same concept as the vagina.

Hope that info helps.

One note: If you are enjoying anal penetration, be sure to use lots of lubricant. The rectum does not produce lubrication like the vagina does. Therefore, we have to get help. One lubricant that I have used is AstroGlide. I have found it in many drugstores and some supermarkets. There are many other lubes on the market, but keep in mind, if you are using any latex toys or condoms, do NOT use petroleum jelly-based (Vaseline) lubes. They damage the toy or condom.
