Riding High - Woman on Top

Ridin’ High, Ridin’ Hot…
Then again, maybe not!

Coupling with your partner is, without doubt, an exquisitely unique sensation. With a firm erection deeply positioned inside your partner, the intimacy is unique. A favorite position of many is the woman superior or on top. She can control the movements as well as the depth of penetration. With the woman on top, her partner’s hands are free to caress other parts of her sensuality. As the rhythmic motions become synchronized, the intensity strengthens and passions run high. She can start pumping faster, lifting higher and thrusting her pelvis downward, impaling herself on her lover’s erection. In most lovemaking scenes like this, the couple climaxes intensely and she collapses onto her partner’s chest, both breathing heavily.

Occasionally, things do not work out as planned! At some point in the passion, the woman rises too high and her partner’s penis leaves the snug vagina. In keeping her rhythm, the woman spontaneously thrusts her hips downward to feel the penetration only to be met with her lover’s screams of pain, not pleasure. It seems that after he came out of her vagina, she firmly sat on his erection…and now he has a fractured penis. His penis is ‘broken.’

Not only is a man at risk for this problem if his partner is straddling him from above, the man can also be at risk if penetration occurs in a standing position. A standing position may pose more risk since the depth of penetration may be significantly limited and accidentally withdrawing the penis from the partner is much easier.

A fractured penis? What bone is broken? No, there is no bone in an erection. The blood-filled chambers (see A&P) of the penis cause the erection. When she sits squarely on his firm penis, the corpus cavernosa bend and rupture leading to a condition known as a fractured penis. The signs and symptoms of a fractured penis include

* Severe pain
* Immediate loss of erection
* Deformity
* Black and blue discoloration
* Swelling

A fractured penis is medical emergency that requires immediate attention. Although calling 9-1-1 for an ambulance is not necessary, there are a few first aid steps that can be taken while en route to the emergency department. First, you do not need to put a splint on it…again, there is no bone in the penis, thus, applying a splint is a waste of time and could be rather painful. The best first aid in this situation is to have the man hold his penis gently to support it and apply a cold compress or ice pack to reduce the bleeding and swelling. The cold pack can be kept in place while calmly driving to the hospital. One additional note – have the man dress is loose clothes such as sweat pants.

Upon arrival at the hospital he will need to go inside the emergency department. Ask for assistance or put him in a wheelchair. Do not have the injured man walk (actually, limp) naked into the hospital clutching his painful penis.
