Self Fulfillment: The Wrong Way!

In the search for adventure and an ever-increasing way at self-pleasuring, men and women have been doing some strange things. One of those things is the insertion of foreign objects into the urethra.
We have seen and heard reports of people inserting the following objects to enjoy a better orgasm:
- Pencils - mechanical and regular
- Pens
- Thermometers
- Paper clips
- Nut picks
- Wire
- Plastic tubing
- Pine needle
Some of these objects had to be removed in surgery under general anesthesia. For example, the pine needle broke off when the man attempted to remove it himself. He ended up in the emergency department and, ultimately, in surgery.
One report discussed a man forcing air or water from a squeeze bottle into the urethra (going the wrong way, guy). This is not friendly to the urethra, penis, prostate, or bladder as it could result in a severe infection of all of those fun parts.
Inserting a foreign object into the urethra can damage it as can attempts to remove an object that is stuck. Signs and symptoms of something gone wrong include:
- Pain
- Swelling
- Increased urination (frequency of urinating)
- Pain when urinating
- Severe infection
- Tearing of the urethra
- Injury to the bladder
In another case, prior to masturbating a patient would grab the base of his flaccid penis and squeeze it firmly, cutting off the blood and compressing the nerves. The result was numbness of the penis. While this sounds like fun, a few thoughts come to mind.
- Why would anyone want a numb penis. Feeling and enjoying the sensations are nice.
- Second, cutting off the blood supply to the penis could cause a blood clot to form in the venis of the penis.
- Finally, if the spongy tissue of the penis is damaged, it could become scarred and deformed.
While compressing the nerves for a short time is generally no problem, repeated injury could damage the nerves and alter sensations for a long time.
Granted, some people do enjoy inserting urethral sounds into the male or female urethra, but that's something usually in the D/s area and there are certain precautions typically taken.
